Syracuse cornerback lays it all on the line for a good time, and pays the price with a heavy faceplant at the end of his run.
Effort is everything at the combine, and it is something that Shamarko Thomas gave during his first 40 yard dash attempt.
After running a sub 4.4. second 40 yard dash time, Thomas lost his balance at the end of the run, and took a heavy fall to the turf, with his head taking most of the collision.
Now while this may be hilariously funny, it does draw up one cause for concern. This is Thomas running at fall speed, and whilst he will never stretch as hard as he did here to cross the line quicker, he does seem to fall over with relative ease, and could cause scouts to question whether he has good balance at top end speed.
While we may be looking too much into this, its also apparent that Thomas laid it all on the line for a good time, and that will impress scouts and coaches no end.
