A Diego Costa header won it for Atletico, who take a precious 1-0 lead and away goal into the second leg, but this save from Courtois from Andrea Poli’s header was as good as a goal.
The 21-year-old stopper is in his third consecutive season on loan from Stamford Bridge and it remains to be seen if the youngster will return to Chelsea, where Petr Cech is still very much number one, in the summer.
