Representative star over knee injury and ready to tackle the Rabbitohs.
The Manly Sea Eagles have received a massive boost for their blockbuster clash against South Sydney with backrower Glenn Stewart set to be named in the side.
Stewart has been a spectator for the first six rounds after undergoing pre-season knee surgery, but with this weekend’s representative bye, the extra time will ensure he is ready to try and take down South Sydney.
The game promises to be the second massive clash early in the season for the Rabbitohs, who faced premiers Melbourne Storm last weekend, coming up just short 17-10.
Manly have also been impressive through the first six rounds in dropping just one game, back in round three against the Gold Coast Titans.
Despite the hiccup, Geoff Toovey’s side has recorded impressive wins against Newcastle, Wests Tigers and against former mentor Des Hasler and the Canterbury Bulldogs.
Glenn’s brother Brett, who himself is battling a niggling hamstring strain, believed the extra time before the start of round seven will ensure his sibling starts.
“Obviously the week off will be good for us,” Stewart said.
