The Gold Coast Suns have thrown an AFL lifeline at Andrew Raines, inviting the former Brisbane Lions tagger to train with the club in the lead up to the pre-season and rookie drafts.
Raines was granted an early release from the Lions back in August after playing 67 games for the club.
Suns football operations manager Marcus Ashcroft said the club was looking forward to providing Raines with an opportunity to train with the Gold Coast.
“We’re looking forward to having Andrew train with us over the next three weeks leading into the draft period,” Ashcroft said.
