Gary Ablett leads the Suns to another big win in the AFL.
The Gold Coast Suns have consolidated a place in the top eight with a 40-point win over GWS at Carrara on Saturday afternoon.
The Suns were not at their best against a spirited Giants side, but they finally prevailed by 20.14 (134) to 13.16 (94).
Jonathon Patton kicked the first goal of the match for the Giants, but that was the only time they led the entire match.
The Suns then kicked six goals straight to lead by 25 points at quarter-time.
The Giants fought back in the second quarter to trail by 17 at the main break, but the home side kicked away, booting six goals to three to be 37 points up with a quarter to go.
The Suns maintained their lead in the final term, with Tom Lynch leading the way with five goals. Jeremy Cameron kicked four in a losing cause for the Giants.
Gold Coast has won four of its first six games to sit in sixth spot pending other results.
The loss takes the Giants to 2-4 for the season.
