Roberts inspired the Titans with two intercept tries, another solo effort and he also set up one for a teammate. Parramatta battled hard early, and were in the match at half-time, but got blown away after the break.
Gold Coast’s Dave Taylor got the first score of the game with a powerful run.
But Parramatta forward Danny Wicks hit back soon.
Straight after James Roberts intercepted a loose ball and touched down.
The two teams were trading tries. William Hopoate was the next to cross.
But anything Hopoate could do, Roberts could do better.
The Gold Coast flyer still had time to get another intercept for his third try.
The Titans were looking good late in the match. William Zillman extended their lead to 30-16 with 13 minutes left on the clock.
There was still time for David Mead to get on the scoreboard and well and truly finish the Eels off.
In the final minute Anthony Don scored in the corner and the Eels had been thumped.
