Both games so far in the series have gone to overtime, with the two teams picking up a win apiece in what is becoming an enthralling Finals.
After Kyrie Irving was ruled out of the rest of the playoffs with a fractured kneecap, the Cavs recognised that they would need a huge team effort and that resulted in a great defensive display last time out.
With Stephen Curry struggling, the Warriors were unable to find their offensive rhythm which ultimately resulted in them dropping a home game in disappointing fashion.
LeBron James continues to excel without two thirds of the ‘Big Three’, and is now averaging 35.3 points, 14.3 rebounds and 11.7 assists in three playoff games without Irving and Kevin Love.
Essentially, the two-time NBA champion is putting his team on his back and saying let’s go and win a championship, and based on their last performance, they are back in with a chance.
However, it is still difficult to see them maintaining their level of play as the series goes on as they will need to perfect on defense again to deny Curry space and time to lead the orchestra while also stopping the other threats that Steve Kerr will throw at them.
Further, LeBron registered 50 minutes on Sunday night and it remains to be seen how fresh he is on Tuesday given the emotional and physical toll the playoffs are taking on him.
The Q will be ready to give their team a huge boost, but the Warriors still haven’t hit their best form and their offense has yet to explode. Prediction: Back the visitors to hit back with Curry silencing the critics with an MVP-worth performance.
