Coming soon to an Emirates Stadium near you: Karim Benzema is “The Scoring Machine.”
As if Arsenal didn’t already have one of the best scoring threats in the league with Alexis Sanchez, they’re about to get enough firepower to burn their Premier League foes to the ground.
According to the Metro, Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema is ready to accept a transfer to Arsenal after the Gunners improved their bid to £50 million.
Benzema had previously balked at the notion that he would leave Real Madrid, where he’s played more than half of his senior career, but is now ready to make a move.
Reported have insisted for over a week that Arsenal had reached an agreement with the La Liga outfit for the 27-year-old scoring machine, but details have been hard to come-by with no official word made yet. Benzema is expected to arrive in London around the time of Arsenal’s big home match against Liverpool.
A €35 million signing out of Lyon in 2009, Karim Benzema has been Real Madrid’s most consistent striker not-named-Ronaldo over the last six seasons.
Benzema has recorded double-digit league goals and 20+ total goals in each of the last five years and in seven of the last eight.
