Argentine ace still confident Napoli can catch Roma in second place.
Napoli star striker Gonzalo Higuain has reiterated that he is still happy with his decision to join the club this summer despite their struggles.
The former Real Madrid ace secured a big-money move to the San Paolo last summer and signed a long term contract with the Partenopei, despite reported intense interest from England.
With Napoli sat in third place in Serie A, the 26-year-old insists that he is still happy with his choice and is fully committed to ensuring the club is successful moving forward.
“I chose Napoli because I wanted to try a new experience in another country,” Higuain told BeinSports this week, as reported by Football Italia.
“I wanted to be part of another project in a new League. Napoli fans have supported me with all their love and I am happy with the choice I have made.
“It is all new here, from the technical staff to the players. We need time in order to win, but we are having a very good season.”
Higuain went on to highlight that the main difference between playing in Spain and Italy is that there is less space for the striker in the latter, which makes it more difficult for him even though he relishes the challenge.
Nevertheless, he paid tribute to coach Rafa Benitez who he admits was one of the reasons why he decided to join the club, and he also remains confident that they will be able to catch Roma in second as leaders Juventus have shown again how strong they are this season.
Napoli also have a Coppa Italia final to look forward to where they will face Fiorentina, with both Higuain and Benitez desperate to reward the supporters with immediate silverware as they begin a new cycle with the southern giants.
