The Colts addition of Hakeem Nicks to a unit that already has T.Y. Hilton and will get back Reggie Wayne may make their receiving corps one of the best in the league.
With two straight AFC South titles and only four games in 2014 against teams with a winning record, a three-peat for the Colts seems almost pre-destined. But the team decided to augment an already strong offense with the addition of one of the best WRs in free agency.
Players added:
Hakeem Nicks – WR, Arthur Jones – DE, D’Qwell Jackson – MLB
A look at each player:
Nick is a former Giant who had two straight 1,000 yard seasons from 2010-2011. He also recorded 11 TDs in 2010 and will be a No. 2 receiver for the Colts
D’Qwell Jackson has over 500 tackles after seven seasons with the Browns and has started 48 consecutive games. He will be the team’s starting MLB in the 3-4 defense.
Jones is a pass rushing defensive tackle with 8.5 sacks in his last two seasons with the Ravens. He will also be an immediate starter for the Colts.
Grade: A
What the Colts lacked in quantity they made up for in quality, adding three young starters with plenty of experience and even more potential.
