Packers rookie WR Jared Abbrederis was a three-year standout at Wisconsin and drew comparisons to Donald Driver and Jordy Nelson prior to the draft.
After unconfirmed reports that WR Jared Abbrederis was lost for the season, the Packers’ rookie confirmed via Twitter that he did, in fact, suffer an ACL injury and will miss the entire 2014 season.
I know there has been a lot of talk going around about my injury. The acl injury was confirmed this morning and is only a small setback.

Abbrederis was a walk-on QB at the University of Wisconsin in 2009, but broke out with the team as a wide receiver in 2010. In 2011 he started 14 games, recording 933 yards and 8 TDs through the air and 15.8 yards per punt return. In 2012 and 2013 Abbrederis was named First Team All-Big 10 and recorded over 1900 receiving yards.
Abbrederis declared for the draft and was taken by the Green Bay Packers – his home state team – in the 5th round (176th overall). In May he signed a four-year contract worth $2.364 million.
