Former NFL quarterback Brett Favre is scheduled to have his number retired and be inducted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame.
Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre has been retired since the 2010 season ended, and he will be eligible for induction into the NFL Hall of Fame in 2016.
Favre spent the first 16 seasons of his career in Green Bay, and he became the most beloved figure in Packers history. Although he drew animosity from Packers fans in 2009 for signing with the Minnesota Vikings, the fan base as a whole has forgiven him.
The Packers are planning to hold a ceremony where they will retire Favre’s number and induct him into the team’s Hall of Fame. ESPN Packers beat writer Rob Demovsky revealed the scheduled date for the future Hall of Famer’s ceremony.
Saturday, July 18, 2015 is the date for Favre’s induction and the No. 4 retirement.
