The Red Devils have consistently been linked with the Brazilian right-back over the course of the season, as his contract impasse with the Catalan giants continues to rumble on.
It was thought the defender had refused a final offer to sign a new deal at the Camp Nou and would now seek pastures new on a Bosman transfer when his contract came to and end in May, at least that’s what his agent claimed last month according to Sky Sports.
However, given the 32-year-old’s stunning form over the last few weeks and months, particularly in the recent Champions League bouts with Bayern Munich, Balague declared on Twitter that he believes there’s now no way Barcelona will let Alves go.
Convinced D. Alves will remain at Barcelona. By the way, his form in the last 2 months, on the way to end of his contract, is outstanding

It’s potentially bad news for United, though it does give them an easier decision to make as to who they end up trying to sign in that problem, right-back position.
Southampton’s Nathaniel Clyne has been another player continually linked with a move to Old Trafford, for instance the Daily Express said just this week the Red Devils were in talks with Saints over a deal.
And if it’s now the case Barcelona might seek to extend Alves’ contract, then surely it leaves the door wide open for England international Clyne to make the move up north.
