Roy Hodgson: Tottenham Striker Harry Kane Not Guaranteed England Spot

The 21-year-old looks like one of the country’s best young talents at the moment, and has been talked up as a shoe-in for England’s next round of international games.
Still, Burt argues that his development for the Under-21s should be a priority, saying: “Harry Kane should not be in the next England squad. The striker should not be called up by Roy Hodgson if that is the price to pay to ensure he takes part in the European Under-21 Championship this summer.
“That tournament is far more important to England and Kane’s development than him moving up to the seniors for the next batch of games.
“England do not need Kane for the Euro 2016 qualifier at home to Lithuania and the friendly away to Italy. But they do need Kane for the Under-21 finals in the Czech Republic.”
