Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has admitted that transfer talk linking him with a summer move to Manchester United is “flattering”.
The 21-year-old is reportedly a £40m target for the Red Devils, who are keen to bolster their attack after a disappointing 2014-15 season, in which Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie were the only two goalscorers to reach double figures, netting 12 and 10 times respectively.

Kane, who bagged 21 goals last term, would certainly be a good addition, but question marks remain over his true value.
Tottenham’s main man is currently on international duty with England’s Under-21 side at Euro 2015, but he found time to respond to recent speculation.
Kane said that he was aware of the transfer talk, but he reaffirmed his commitment to Spurs.
“I’ve seen there’s interest but that’s all I know,” Kane told reporters. “It’s flattering for other clubs to maybe be interested but I’m happy at Spurs and I’m looking forward to the future.”
He added: “Tottenham are a big club and that’s the way people have got to see it. I’m at a big club now, I’m enjoying my football and I’m looking forward to next season.”
Spurs fans will be pleased to hear Kane bigging up his current club, but just the fact that he said he was flattered by the interest in him will send shivers down the fans of the White Hart Lane faithful, who have seen their star men say similar things, shortly before clearing off many times before.
Sol Campbell, Gareth Bale and Luka Modric were all flattered to start with.
