According to Turkish Football, Van Persie’s agent has been in Istanbul for the past two days and that has ultimately led to the player reaching an agreement with the Super Lig outfit.
While the 31-year-old may have agreed terms, the two clubs will still need to discuss a suitable transfer fee, but it is reported that he is ready to pen a four-year deal.
Fener winger Dirk Kuyt has reportedly been instrumental in convincing his fellow Dutchman to make the switch, with Van Persie initially cautious about moving his family.
However, the former Liverpool star has enjoyed a successful time with the Yellow Canaries during his three years with the club thus far, and has persuaded Van Persie to join him.
Van Persie endured a difficult season last year, and he will have one eye on ensuring that he is part of the Dutch national squad ahead of Euro 2016 next summer.
With his form dipping at Old Trafford and with competition likely to increase, a move to Fener would give him significant playing time and that may well have been a crucial factor in convincing him to sign.
