Liam Shiels v. Travis Boak
Boak has had an outstanding season and throughly deserved his All-Australian spot on Wednesday night.
The Port captain has been influential all year, however the tight tag of Ryan Crowley against the Dockers last week restricted him to just 16 disposals – many of them coming in the last quarter.
If Shiels can do a similar job on him as Crowley did, then the Hawks chances of playing in the Grand Final will have improved ten fold.
However last time these sides met, Boak destroyed Alastair Clarkson’s side, picking up 34 disposals and 10 clearances as the Power made light work of the Hawks.
Shiels needs to prevent a repeat occurance.
Taylor Duryea v. Chad Wingard
Wingard was influential in the round 10 clash between the two sides, booting three goals and dishing off as many assists.
The Power excitement machine’s form dipped in the second half of the year, but he is hitting his straps at just the right time and looms a key player who has the potential to tear this match apart.
Duryea looks likely to be the man to go to Wingard, and he is absolutely pivotal if the Hawks are to reach the Grand Final.
