The Heisman Trophy race had just produced a new favorite in Georgia running back Todd Gurley, but that will change quickly as the star running back has been suspended indefinitely by the NCAA.
The junior running back is being suspended for allegedly violating NCAA rules, but the details have not been disclosed yet. This is a major blow to Georgia, who has already moved on without departed quarterback Aaron Murray.
This suspension will also open up the race for the title in an underwhelming SEC East.
Here is a tweet from ESPN national college football reporter Joe Schad releasing the news on Gurley’s suspension.
