1. Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon
Mariota is the clear-cut Heisman winner, and this should be made official at the ceremony. Scoring five touchdowns in the Pac-12 title game only makes his case stronger. The Oregon quarterback has led his team to a No. 2 ranking and a chance to compete for the national championship. He also has incredible numbers to back it up, as he has thrown 38 touchdown passes with only two interceptions.
In addition, the future top-10 draft pick has rushed for 14 touchdowns and caught one, totaling 53 on the season. This puts him in good company with all-time great college quarterbacks such as Tim Tebow and Cam Newton. Whether he can get the best of Florida State and Alabama/Ohio State remains to be seen, but Mariota is the obvious choice.
Stats: 3,783 passing yards, 38 touchdowns, 2 interceptions, 68.3 completion percentage; 117 carries, 669 rushing yards, 14 touchdowns; 1 reception, 26 receiving yards, 1 touchdown
