1. Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon
Mariota is still the favorite to win the Heisman since he leads a top-five team with realistic national championship hopes, and he played excellently against South Dakota with 267 yards and three touchdowns on 14-of-20 passing. The redshirt junior also ran for 43 yards and a touchdown on six carries. If you are impressed by these numbers, it is worth noting that Mariota was pulled after halftime, so it’s scary to imagine what numbers he could have posted in a full game. He will need to lead the Ducks to a win over No. 8 Michigan State to stay atop the Heisman race though.
