4. Todd Gurley, RB, Georgia
Although his Heisman stock took a hit with only six carries, Gurley remains in the race since he has a proven track record and made the most of his carries against Troy in Georgia’s 66-0 blowout win by rushing for 73 yards. Head coach Mark Richt decided to keep Gurley fresh for big games, and he is capable of continuing to put up big numbers.
If Gurley can keep Sony Michel off the field, his numbers will stay up and send him to New York if Georgia can have another winning record.
Stats: 41 carries, 402 rushing yards, 4 touchdowns; 5 catches, -1 receiving yards, 0 touchdowns
