1. Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon
Oregon escaped a loss after receiving a major upset bid from Washington State on the road, and this was thanks to the play of Mariota. The Ducks ultimately won the game, 38-31. The redshirt junior carried the team nearly all by himself by throwing for 329 yards and five touchdowns on 21-of-25 passing, and he added 58 rushing yards on 13 carries.
Mariota still has yet to throw an interception this season, and he has thrown 13 touchdown passes while completing 74 percent of his passes. Unless he and the entire Oregon team melt down, Mariota has distanced himself in the race for the Heisman Trophy.
Stats: 1,135 passing yards, 13 touchdown passes, 0 interceptions, 74.0 completion percentage; 33 carries, 214 rushing yards, 3 touchdowns
