2. Kenny Hill, QB, Texas A&M
Some Heisman voters may move Hill down in their rankings after he had a slow start in the Aggies’ win over Arkansas and threw a fourth-quarter interception. However, Hill still got the job done as he led the Aggies to a comeback win with two fourth-quarter touchdown passes.
These passes went for 86 and 59 yards, and Hill threw another touchdown pass in overtime to seal the Aggies’ win and keep them undefeated. This automatically keeps Hill in the Heisman race, and he has proven that he can be clutch if the Aggies are facing a deficit. His ability to gain yards on the ground doesn’t hurt either.
Stats: 1,745 passing yards, 17 passing touchdowns, 2 interceptions, 65.6 completion percentage; 22 carries, 136 rushing yards, 0 touchdowns
