3. Dak Prescott, QB, Mississippi State
Prescott has skyrocketed into the Heisman race after engineering the Bulldogs to an upset win over Texas A&M, and he threw two touchdown passes while rushing for three. Prescott also completed 76.9 percent of his passes. Mississippi State is now tied for third in the AP Top 25, so this automatically makes Prescott a prime Heisman candidate.
The quarterback is a dual threat and becoming one of the best quarterbacks in the nation. He may become the frontrunner if he can continue putting on impressive shows against SEC West opponents. The junior quarterback already has upset victories over LSU and Texas A&M on his resume.
Stats: 1,232 passing yards, 13 touchdown passes, 2 interceptions, 63.9 completion percentage; 85 carries, 455 rushing yards, 6 touchdowns
