4. Bryce Petty, QB, Baylor
Baylor remains undefeated after mounting a huge comeback against TCU. They trailed 58-37, but Petty led the Bears to 21 unanswered points and a last-second field goal to win the game. The quarterback regained his form as he threw for six touchdown passes against two interceptions with 510 passing yards.
Petty had been struggling somewhat earlier in the season, but he came through in the clutch in Baylor’s biggest game of the season so far. Leading an undefeated team will automatically give a quarterback at least some Heisman consideration, but Petty has the numbers to back it up and will find himself at the Heisman ceremony if he picks up from the TCU game.
Stats: 1,534 passing yards, 15 touchdowns, 3 interceptions, 56.7 completion percentage; 34 carries, 109 rushing yards, 3 touchdowns
