3. Everett Golson, QB, Notre Dame
Golson led the Fighting Irish to a 50-43 win over North Carolina after they had their first poor defensive performance of the season, and they remain undefeated. He threw for 300 yards with three touchdowns and an interception and threw a key touchdown pass in the fourth quarter. He added another 71 yards on the ground.
The Fighting Irish quarterback proved that he can lead his team to victory even when their defense is not playing their best, but his accuracy has sputtered in his last two games. Golson has shown the clutch factor though, and Notre Dame is a legitimate contender for the playoff thanks to his play.
Stats: 1,683 passing yards, 16 touchdowns, 4 interceptions, 62.5 completion percentage; 58 carries, 209 rushing yards, 4 touchdowns
