The centre half’s form decreased rapidly after Sherwood was handed the job in December but Chiriches has shown enough in his debut season in the Premier League to suggest he is a talented player with a big future at this level. Spurs should look to partner the Romanian with Jan Vertonghen and build a solid back four next season.
