Hertha Berlin midfielder Raffael is reportedly set for a January move to Arsenal according to reports in Germany.
Despite recruiting Mikel Arteta and Yossi Benayoun in the summer, manager Arsene Wenger is still hoping to add another midfielder to his squad after losing Jack Wilshere to injury and potential absentees during the African Nations next year.
The Frenchman is also concerned as to whether he has adequately filled the gaps left by Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri after their exits from north London.
Raffael, 26, scored ten goals last season as Hertha claimed the title in Germany’s second tier, and is rumoured to be available for around £4 million.
The Brazilian-born star has scored twice in six Bundesliga games this season, and it is believed that Arsenal have been monitoring the attacking midfielder since the beginning of the new campaign with a view to making their move in January.
