Firmino has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United, but according to Brazilian Globosporte [via The Mirror], the Reds will attempt to swoop on the £20m-rated Brazilian.
The player’s agent recently confirmed the 23-year-old would be making a move to England this summer, but stopped short of announcing which club he would be joining.
Firmino’s current involvement in the 2015 Copa America tournament in Chile may delay any transfer being announced.
Louis van Gaal has reportedly been handed a £200m transfer kitty this summer and it’s believed United are still in pole position to sign the former Figueirense man.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to bolster his front third however, and Firmino would be an excellent addition to the Reds.
Firmino is also reportedly being tracked by cashed-up Premier League heavyweights Manchester City.
