The star of Pulp Fiction and Avengers Assemble was tweeting throughout the match as goals from Martin Skrtel, Raheem Sterling and Daniel Sturridge secured a resounding victory.

Jackson starred alongside British actor Robert Carlyle in the 2001 film The 51st State, which was set in Liverpool and in which Carlyle played a hardcore Reds fan – which may explain the American’s affection of Merseyside.
