The Houston Texans bounced back with a 32-7 win over the Atlanta Falcons as Jadeveon Clowney continued to make his presence known on defense.
The Houston Texans had a complete turnaround from their blowout loss to the Arizona Cardinals and dealt the Atlanta Falcons a blowout of their own by winning, 32-7.
The Falcons tied the game at seven in the second quarter, but the Texans continued to score and never looked back.
Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick looked much better, throwing for 97 yards and a touchdown on 9-for-12 passing.
Running back Jonathan Grimes put together an impressive performance with 42 yards on nine carries, and he added 25 receiving yards on three catches.
Rookie outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney continued to strike fear in opposing offenses as he blew past the Falcons’ offensive line for a sack and two tackles for loss.
The Falcons’ quarterbacks, including starter Matt Ryan struggled in the loss. Ryan only threw for 37 yards on 3-for-7 passing, and T.J. Yates threw two interceptions. Sean Renfree threw a touchdown pass, but he only completed 49 yards on 7-for-10 passing.
This touchdown went to Devin Hester, who finished with 15 yards on two catches and took reps on kick and punt returns.
However, running back Devonta Freeman continued to make a case for a starting spot by rushing for 31 yards on six carries.
Linebacker Paul Worrilow contributed significantly to the defense with eight tackles.
