Sami Khedira, Real Madrid – £20m
Finally, having rejected the chance to re-sign Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona, Wenger has shown that it is defensively minded players that he wants to sign in midfield this summer.
With one year remaining on his current contract at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, it’s understood that holding midfield ace Khedira could well be available – although Chelsea and Manchester United are also keen.
