As good as Jon Flanagan was at left-back for the majority of the campaign, relying solely on the youngster could prove costly.
Jose Enrique has been injured for large chunks of the year and Aly Cissokho didn’t do enough to make his loan move from Valencia permanent, so expect the veteran Cole to get one final chance to impress on the big stage.
