On the surface it appears that Pochettino has an abundance of talent in the centre-back position, but dig a little deeper and things look less certain.

Jan Vertonghen, like Lloris, is desperate to play Champions League football and may seek a transfer as a result, whilst there are concerns over the defensive capabilities of captain Michael Dawson.

Vlad Chiriches had a solid enough first year in the English capital however, whilst Younes Kaboul provides adequate cover and therefore perhaps one new addition will be required.
