Beyond the full-backs Tottenham’s main area of concern is in attack, where there are just three options of which only Emmanuel Adebayor has been any use in recent times.
Roberto Soldado has been largely ineffective since a £26m switch from Valencia in 2013, but is likely to be given more time thanks partly to his extortionate transfer fee.
Finally Harry Kane played a couple of useful games towards the end of the term, but whether the Englishman has what is required on a consistent basis is unknown.
Again one more purchase would be useful, with one of either Manchester United’s Javier Hernandez, Romelu Lukaku or QPR forward Loic Remy seemingly the most likely, according to the Independent.
