The Dutchman is expected to be busy before the new season starts.
Although new Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is currently concentrating on guiding the Netherlands through the 2014 World Cup the Dutchman has one eye on his new job.
Van Gaal will take charge officially at Old Trafford once the tournament in Brazil finishes and the 62-year-old is looking at who he can sign to improve the Red Devils.
The 2013/14 season was hugely disappointing for United, who finished with their lowest ever Premier League points tally and no European football for the first time since 1981.
Therefore van Gaal has a big task on his hands, but this is what his starting XI could look like next term after a summer of transfers.
GK – David de Gea
Despite the poor form of the team as whole, the performances of their goalkeeper were actually a positive and the Spaniard looks to be improving with every passing game.
The 23-year-old appears to have put the inconsistency of his early career at the Theatre of Dreams behind him and the No.1 spot will be one less thing to worry about.
