Samuel Eto’o is one step closer to joining Chelsea…
Cameroonian striker Samuel Eto’o is close to leaving Anzhi Makhachkala to reunite with Jose Mourinho at Chelsea, reports Italian publication Palermo.
Eto’o’s agent Claudio Vigorelli held positive talks with the Chelsea hierarchy earlier this week, and a deal could be imminent after Anzhi admitted they are willing to let any of their highest paid players leave.
Napoli and Inter Milan are also interested in the hitman, but the lure of Jose Mourinho could be too much for the ex-Barcelona striker to resist. Earlier in the week, Eto’o admitted how much he wanted to work with the Portuguese boss again.
Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri has also confirmed the news, but indicated that Eto’o’s first choice would actually be a return to Inter Milan.
Eto’o agent revealed to magazine Panorama that Chelsea meeting has been very positive, and they’ll go on Eto’o if Rooney deal won’t happen(1)

Also, Eto’o agent added that his first option is a comeback to Inter, but their offer is still far from his request (approx 1.5m € distance)

The striker has bagged 288 goals in 543 career matches, and 55 times in 112 games for Cameroon. He would compete with Fernando Torres, Romelu Lukaku and Demba Ba for the lone striking berth at Chelsea, possibly forcing one of the three to leave the club on loan before the end of the window.
