Atletico Madrid have reportedly failed with an audacious swoop to sign Barcelona forward Pedro.
The Spanish World Cup winner signed a new contract at the Camp Nou last month but is still said to be considering his future after a lack of first-team opportunities last season.

The 27-year-old struggled to usurp any one of Neymar, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi from the attacking trio that fired Barca to an historic treble last season.
But the La Liga champions will not allow Pedro to join one of their domestic title rivals, and Spanish publication AS claims that Barca knocked back Atletico’s approach.
Both Arsenal and Liverpool have been credited with an interest in Pedro, and the Catalan giants might be more receptive to selling their £20m-rated academy graduate abroad.
Pedro has scored 88 goals in 257 appearances for Barca since making his first-team debut in 2007.
