Hulk Hogan has been removed from all WWE branding after allegedly spouting a horrendous racist rant.
An audio clip of Hogan making deeply offensive and racist remarks about fellow wrestling legend The Rock has been released this morning, and has seemingly caused The Hulkster to be exiled by WWE.
Hogan, a 12-time world champion, is heard using the word “ni**er” freely during an interview and is claimed to have said the following about Samoan-born Rock, now acting under real name Dwayne Johnson:
“An uppity, half-breed ni**er undeserving of his success,” Hogan, real name Terry Gene Bollea, is quoted as saying by readtalkshare.com.
“An untalented no-good shit-talking Sambo,” he later added, allege the same website.
WWE have yet to make an official comment, but officials have responded by completely removing his face from the WWE website, online shop and Hall of Fame, to which Hogan was inducted in 2005.
The 61-year-old returned to the WWE after a seven-year hiatus in 2014 and was announced as host for the 30th edition of WrestleMania – the phenomenon that Hogan helped build with Vince McMahon Jnr.
Hogan is almost certainly the most recognisable name in WWE history, but now risks having that name tarnished. In preparation for the release of the audio clip and the subsequent backlash, he tweeted:
In the storm I release control,God and his Universe will sail me where he wants me to be,one love. HH
