Former Porto star says he has tried to leave Red Devils.
Manchester United midfielder Anderson has admitted he has tried to leave the club ‘many times’.
The 24-year-old midfielder joined Manchester United from Porto in 2007 but, after a strong start to life in the Premier League, has struggled with form and fitness in recent seasons.
But the midfielder is enjoying something of a renaissance this term and has impressed in his 17 appearances for the Red Devils.
Even so, Anderson says he has tried to leave Old Trafford on several occasions.
“What can I say? I have three more years of contract, I have tried to leave many times and never succeeded to do so,” Anderson told Globo Esporte.
The energetic midfielder stressed, however, that he was focussed on helping United reclaim the Premier League and progress in the Champions League, despite reports he could be set for a recall to the national team set-up.
He added: “The national team is always good but we have to think about the second leg and about the English league.”
Anderson last played for his country in 2008.
