The Valencia full-back claims he has agreed terms but a fee has not yet been accepted.
French sporting news site Le 10 Sport have reported that Liverpool target Aly Cissokho wants to join the Reds – and has already agreed to terms with them.
“Liverpool have made me an offer and it is true that I have reached an agreement with them. It is now up to the clubs to agree terms. I expect to know more later this week.”
Cissokho seems to believe that this is far more than a simple formality however. He explained, “If nothing happens this week, it probably means that I will not be going to Liverpool.
“The conditions of the transfer are the problem. Liverpool prefer a loan deal with an option to buy, while Valencia want to sell straight away. If the transfer doesn’t take place, it’s not a problem either. I am feeling well at Valencia.”
Whilst Liverpool already have a strong left-back and fan favourite in Spaniard Jose Enrique, Cissokho has been linked with the club since the back-end of the 2012-13 season, so should this transfer go through it should not prove too shocking for the fans.
Cissokho only featured in eleven league matches for his club Valencia last season due to the intensity of the speculation surrounding him with a move. He previously featured 93 times for Lyon, winning one Coupe de France and earning a single national team call up for France.
