Barca star could even feature against PSG next week.
Barcelona striker Lionel Messi’s hamstring injury may not be quite as serious as first thought, according to both the Catalan club and the player himself.
The Argentina international was forced off at half-time in Tuesday night’s Champions League last-eight clash with Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes having earlier given the visitors the lead in the first leg.
And, the initial prognosis was that the four-time Fifa Ballon d’Or winner would be out of action for about two weeks, and so ruling Messi out of the crucial return leg with the Ligue 1 leaders at Camp Nou next Wednesday night.
However, since then Messi himself has taken to his Facebook page to confirm: “I will return soon. Thankfully it was not so serious,” while Barca themselves have released a statement stating that the 25-year-old would miss Saturday’s Liga encounter with Real Majorca, but “his availability after that will depend on how the injury progresses”.
