The Uruguayan left Anfield in the summer for the Catalan club, after a stellar season in which he scored 31 goals for the Reds. The 28-year-old was back on Merseyside to play in a charity game organised by Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher on Sunday, and still seems to hold some affection for the Premier League side.
He was also happy to finally play alongside Fernando Torres, who left the club for rivals Chelsea days after the striker’s arrival.
According to the Daily Express he said: “Four years ago I crossed my fingers to play with Fernando, but he left three days after I signed. It was amazing to be back. The supporters are in my heart.”
Since arriving at the Nou Camp the forward has overcome a slow start to become a key part of the side that has recently gone four points clear at the top of La Liga. This is in part due to a 2-1 El Clásico win over Real Madrid in which Suarez scored last week.
