The midfielder caught an elbow in Anderlecht’s shock loss to Lokeren at the weekend, and this was the result.
Sunday was a bad day all-round for Sacha Kljestan. Not only did his team RSC Anderlecht start off their Belgian title defence with a shock 3-2 defeat to KSC Lokeren, but he also had to leave the pitch after just 25 minutes with a nasty unconventional injury.
Kljestan was on the receiving end of an elbow from Lokeren’s Jordan Remacle. Not only did Remacle get away scott-free, but he then proceeded to score the match winning goal on the 71 minute mark.
Kljestan tweeted a picture of his nearly-severed ear after the match. If you have the stomach for it, take a look below:
Do not look if you are a little squeamish. Pic of my ear after the elbow I caught today. pic.twitter.com/DB0d0o7dZn
