Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski returns to action and ready to play alongside summer signing and fellow Germany international Mesut Ozil.
Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski has been out of action since late August with a torn hamstring, but has finally been able to return to training for the Gunners.
The Germany international posted a picture to his Instagram account of his comeback with the caption, “I’ve been waiting for this moment – back on the pitch!;) #afc #arsenal #lukaspodolski #podolski #adidas #comeback #fight #staydench #poldi #aha #upthebunner,” and the delight on his face was palpable.
The 27 year-old will also give Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger another option in attack should Olivier Giroud be unavailable, with the north London club’s fans desperately hoping that no injury was suffered by the Frenchman in Podolski’s absence.
With Podolski back though, Arsenal have the option to play him alongside Giroud, as a lone striker, or on the wing, and it is the German’s finishing that have been an immense asset to the Gunners already this season.
Two goals against Fulham were the catalyst in getting the Arsenal season back on track after their loss to Aston Villa on the opening day of the season, and Wenger will hope for more of the same from his German talisman.
