Kim Kallstrom could make his Arsenal debut in the north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday after returning to full training.
Arsenal have suffered something of an injury crisis in midfield in recent weeks, with Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere and Mesut Ozil all currently out of action with muscle complaints.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has shone alongside either Mikel Arteta or Mathieu Flamini in the centre recently, but given that Theo Walcott is also out for the season, the 20 year-old may also be required on the right wing.
With that in mind, the signing of Kim Kallstrom on loan from Spartak Moscow in January suddenly seems rather less bizarre, and the Sweden international has returned to training after his own injury at the perfect time for the Gunners.
