Arsenal ace visits team whose badge he has tattooed on his right arm during international break.
Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski is currently recovering in his home country of Germany from a hamstring injury, and in the international break made good use of his time.
The 27 year-old took time to visit his old side FC Koln in Cologne, who are flying high in the 2. Bundesliga. Podolski’s old side are top of the table on goal difference – like Arsenal in the Barclays Premier League – though FC Koln are in fact unbeaten so far this season, with the Gunners having lost to Aston Villa on the opening day of the season.
Podolski has a tattoo of the FC Koln badge on his right arm, and when questioned by the Daily Mirror in September 2012 whether he would get a similar tattoo of the Arsenal emblem, he responded favourably.
“Maybe on this one – my left arm – in a few years!” said Podolski.
“Cologne meant so much to me because I was there a long time. Maybe I will do the same with Arsenal because I like this club.
“It is a big club and maybe we can do a tattoo. We can speak about this in the next three or four years.”
Podolski looks set to make his return to action in an action packed November, with the Gunners set to face Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United, Southampton, Olympique de Marseille and Cardiff City.
