Mayweather vs Pacquiao revenue: Staggering numbers revealed.
While Mayweather’s bout with Manny Pacquiao on May 2 generated over $500m in revenue just domestically, the unbeaten superstar continues to win big amounts of money through his enjoyment of gambling.
As revealed in an Instagram post on Monday, the 38-year-old placed four bets over the course of the weekend which won him back just over $827,000 in total.
This is nothing new for Mayweather as he has regularly shared how much he has won with his followers over the years, but this time he opted to go for a mix of boxing and basketball by backing Gennady Golovkin, the Atlanta Hawks and the Houston Rockets in various bets.
Naturally, Mayweather seems to only tell his followers how much he has won, but it would come as no surprise if he has lost a significant amount of money over the years too.
Back in October last year, ‘Money’ won $2.48m as part of an accumulator on NFL games, while in 2013 he put $3.75m on the Miami Heat beating the Indiana Pacers in an NBA game, bring him $4.13m back.
Coupled with his earnings from his fights, it doesn’t take a genius to realise just how much wealth this man has. While it should be celebrated given the success he has made for himself, it is also the source of why so many fans have a dislike towards him.
While his bout with Pacquiao earlier this month will go down as the richest fight in boxing history, it remains to be seen if he turns down the chance to make just as much money next year if the pair can agree on a rematch.
