Mayweather and Pacquiao finally agreed to terms last month to set up what is expected to be the biggest fight in boxing history, with the bout likely to shatter various records for revenue and pay-per-view numbers.
After years of talks and failed negotiations, the pair will be able to settle their rivalry and answer the question as to who the pound-for-pound king of boxing really is.
Having come face-to-face at a press conference earlier this month in Los Angeles, the two fighters will not meet again until fight week, and reports from their respective training camps suggest that all is going to plan.
However, that hasn’t stopped the war of words between the trainers and those connected, and it could well be fiery night in Vegas on the basis of the taunts and insults that have been flying around.
The fight is expected to live up to expectations with Mayweather likely to adopt his cautious and defensive approach with his brilliant counter-punching ability. In contrast, Pacquiao is renowned for his aggressiveness and combinations and will look to take the fight to his opponent.
Whether or not Mayweather extends his unbeaten record to 48-0 remains to be seen, but what is certain is that the excitement continues to build ahead of the fight that the world is waiting for.
