Scalabrine inspired by James’ words after his return to Cleveland…
Brian Scalabrine has taken inspiration from LeBron James and produced his very own ‘Coming Home’ essay after announcing a return to Boston as a broadcaster.
The veteran star was a much-loved member of the Boston Celtics between 2005 and 2010 before moving to the Chicago Bulls prior to becoming an assistant coach with the Golden State Warriors last season.
However, he has now secured a return to his favourite city as a broadcaster and he came up with an impressive way of explaining his decision.
James produced his own essay with Sports Illustrated to explain why he chose to return to Cleveland and leave the Miami Heat earlier this summer as opposed to cause controversy through any other medium, and Scalabrine, tongue-in-cheek, has followed in his foot-steps to share his reasoning.
“I’m doing this essay because I want an opportunity to explain myself uninterrupted…and gather some great press based on another recent NBA signing…in almost the exact same way. …
“I may have a press conference, and I am definitely having a party. And all of Boston will be invited. And when we are done, we will still have a few months before we have to get to work. …
“I’m not promising a championship. I know how hard that is to deliver. We’re not ready right now. No way. Of course, I want to win next year, but I’m realistic. I’m only a broadcaster – what could I really do? …
“I’m ready to accept the Scallenge. Boston, I’m coming home.”
